C. Ray DeLong
President of Triple D Equipment, Inc. |
Triple D Equipment, Inc. began its life when the
DeLong family purchased the business from Smith Feed and Seed
Co. in 1990. In the Beginning, there were only five employees:
a salesperson, a service person, a parts/delivery person, a
mechanic and a bookkeeper.
In 1993, when the operations were moved from Old
New York Avenue to the current 5 acre location on Firehouse
Road, next to DeLand Chevrolet, the name was officially changed
to Triple D Equipment, Inc.
Triple D is a family-owned-and-operated business,
with the day to day tasks shared by C. Ray DeLong, President,
and Larry V. DeLong, Vice President.
When asked what the name Triple D Equipment stands
for, Judy DeLong said, “DeLongs in Delightful DeLand.“
Now in 2006, Triple D Equipment, Inc. has grown
to 27 employees: five salespeople, five parts people, seven
service specialists, five assembly/delivery people, and two
accounting/office staff members.
Triple D product lines include: ASV Track Loaders,
Gravely, Stihl, Kubota and John Deere.
A firm believer in the community, the Triple D
family supports FFA of Volusia and Flagler counties, the Volusia
County Fair, the Volusia Cattleman’s Association, the
Farm Bureau, the DeLand Area Chamber of Commerce, the Lake Helen
Saddle Club and Rafter V. Productions Bull Riding Events.
Larry V. DeLong said, “There is no other
job in this world that can compare to this one, and not even
for a million dollars would I ever leave here. Working side
by side with my father is priceless, and that makes me the luckiest
man alive.“
The DeLong father and son share the philosophy
that the employees and the customers are the most important
thing about their business.
